This presentation will take the basics of oilseed processing discussed in Crushing Perspectives, and break it down into more detail, simplifying the science behind the madness. Topics covered will include the different steps of the preparation process such as cleaning, cracking, flaking, grinding etc. as well as the extraction process including distillation and solvent recovery, explaining how each step affects the end quality and yields of the products. We will also cover the unique safety and environmental challenges of a soybean crush plant.

Scott has over 25 years of experience in the oilseed industry. He has performed various operations and project management roles while working for some of the largest oilseed processing companies in the USA as well as internationally. As N. Hunt Moore’s Director of Engineering, he leads the firm’s efforts in project management, engineering and design for their clients’ many projects including equipment upgrades, plant expansions, and new processes.
