Session Description

Controlling and managing grain dust is a crucial aspect of environmental health & safety for grain elevators and processors. In this presentation, we’ll explore the dangers of uncontrolled grain dust and the fundamentals of dust collection system design and engineering for grain processing. Attendees will learn how to recognize a dust problem and the dangers of fugitive grain dust, including occupational health, combustion risk and food safety/cross contamination concerns. Then, we’ll explore potential solutions, including options for source capture and ambient control of dust and considerations in solution design. Participants will leave better equipped to make effective decisions for management of dust in their facilities.
