Butch Hendrix
Butch Hendrix serves as Corporate Safety Director for Kokomo Grain Co., Inc. He has been in the safety business for decades; serving as a crane operator, welder, general utility worker, global EHS auditor, contractor/construction safety lead and auditor and a serious injury and fatality investigator. Hendrix received education at University of Illinois where he studied Criminal Justice and Fire Sciences. He has also taken several classes through OSHA . In addition to his work at Kokomo Grain, Hendrix is a trainer with the Grain Handling Safety Coalition and has been a volunteer fire chief for more than a decade. He has served as a Haz-Woper incident commander and trainer, a DOT hazmat trainer, helped the State Fire academy board develop ag rescue and response standards in Illinois and Indiana, served as a police officer, a tech rescue specialist and trainer and as a high angle/confined space/grain bin rescue team leader and trainer in an industrial, urban and wilderness environment.
Hendrix is married, with three children, five grandchildren and some very spoiled dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, bicycle riding and camping.
