Betten advises viewers to throw lots of darts to attract new talent. Then she encourages you to try new and different tactics if you are not getting the results you want. Her suggestions include exploring untraditional methods like:
- providing free tacos for in-person applicants
- hosting a drive-through career fair or hiring
- hiring a daily workforce through a prison work-release program
Later, she shares has tips for improving standard tactics, like job ads. She encourages you to have a clear and concise title on ads. You should also be intentional with your formatting. Finally, she reminds you to really sell your company to turn candidates into applicants.
Throughout the presentation, Betten encourages you to write down at least one thing you are willing to commit to doing and one thing you are willing to explore to attract new talent. These takeaways will help you achieve your long term recruiting goals!
