Our roots were formed by farmers and grain elevator owners in 1909 as a protection group, known then as Farmers Cooperative Elevator Mutual Insurance Association. Nationwide was founded in 1926 as Farm Bureau Mutual by Ohio farmers. Nationwide still acts as the Farm Bureau relationship in 8 states today. Today, nearly half of our Nationwide Board of Directors are farmers or agribusiness owners. Nationwide takes pride in our ability to impact agribusiness safety in our communities.
