GEAPS Exchange 2025: Oilseed Processing – “A Crushing Perspective”


Session Description
The presentation will discuss the basics of oilseed processing including the two major types of extraction in use in North America coupled with soybean and canola statistics i.e. acreages and new plants coming online. An overview will also be given of the similarities between elevator and processing safety and regulations. There also will be discussions on the importance of grain quality in oilseed processing, the products from oilseed processing, and their uses along with future demand. Locations of newly commissioned and expected commissioning's will be included.
Meet The Speaker

John Mulholland has more than 40 years of oilseed industry experience. He has served as N. Hunt Moore’s general manager since 2007, where he has been responsible for the direction and coordination of engineering, sales, service and customer support for company resources. Before joining N. Hunt Moore, Mulholland served in various operational roles at major processors including Ralston Purina, Cargill, and Perdue Farms in elevator operations, maintenance, project management, and production. He was Plant Manager at four locations and Director of Crush and Refining Operations. His areas of expertise include plant operations, long-term planning, technology, safety, projects and employee relations.
