Tim Zehnder
Tim Zehnder started his career in the fire service in January of 1990 when he became a member of the Truman Vol. Fire and Rescue Dept. He got his EMT and NFPA 1001 training that same year. Tim attended Lake Superior College where he worked on his Fire Science Degree. In 1994 Tim went to work for the US Forest service at the Payette National Forest in Idaho as an Engine Forman where he was for 2 years. Tim moved back to Minnesota and continued his career with Truman where he held every position from firefighter to Chief. Tim was a Minnesota State Fire Instructor for 18 years, for 7 years Tim was the Fire & Rescue training program manager at one of the state training colleges. Tim retired from the Truman Fire & Ambulance service in April of 2013 with 21 ½ years of service. Tim accepted the position of Director of Fire Science at the Mid Plains Community College at the McCook campus and started March 11th, 2013. Tim was a paid-on call firefighter with the McCook City Fire Department for 6 years prior to retiring. Tim is married and has 3 daughters and 1 grandson. Tim presents programs on ff survival, ff safety, RIT, Rural Tactics, Grain Bin Rescue, and a few others. Tim was a past instructor ISFSI 1403 Live Fire Instructor and traveled the USA and Canada delivering the program. In his free time Tim enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, golfing and being outside.
